Study tour delegates will see the operations of a selection of Swedish prefabricated housing manufacturers from manually produced elements using ‘butterfly tables’ with very low capital investment through to firms utilising highly automated high volume production lines. Beyond the manufacturing processes involved, the program will also consider the initiation, design, marketing and delivery of panel system projects..

RMIT is partnering with industry to convene a two part series of industry workshops on Information Driven Manufacturing (iDM) and its disruptive impact on manufacturing processes, products, services and business models. iDM incorporates initiatives such as Industry 4.0, the Industrial Internet, Made in China 2025, etc.
Future Forum : Modulation brings together an expert panel to explore the global and local pre-fabricated building industry to identify specific actions that will enable the State to participate. It will forecast the looming impact on traditional construction methods and jobs, as well as map out the opportunities that may exist to facilitate a transition for automotive workers and manufacturers into factory-built construction.

These two manufacturers will highlight some of their current product offerings and outline their lean manufacturing processes and quality systems to improve quality and competitiveness.
