XLam manufactures Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) structural building panels for use as floors, roofs and walls in commercial and residential buildings.
Although XLam is the first and only manufacturer of CLT in the Southern Hemisphere, the product is well proven internationally. It has a 25 year track record in Austria, Switzerland and Germany, is well established in Scandinavia and the UK, and is now getting underway in Canada and the USA. XLam have completed over 120 projects in New Zealand and are now actively expanding into the Australian market with a number of projects already delivered and plans to develop the first Australian CLT manufacturing facility well underway.
CLT is a highly accurate prefabricated structural solution with excellent environmental credentials. The product has a very high strength to weight ratio and offers a much faster and safer construction method than traditional steel and concrete alternatives. The CLT building system provides a number of economic benefits such as speed of construction, decreased structural weight and foundation costs, reduced onsite building waste, building operation efficiencies, as well as lower environmental and health costs.
XLam’s vision is to establish itself as a leading provider of sustainable prefabricated solutions for commercial and residential construction throughout New Zealand, Australia and beyond, focussing on the use of CLT and derivative products.
