Arkit is an architect-led design and build group specialising in high-quality, architecturally designed prefabricated buildings. Arkit was founded by Craig Chatman, an architect and registered builder with 25 years’ experience, and a founding board member of prefabAUS. Arkit works collaboratively with clients to deliver sustainable, energy-efficient buildings, including Passive House projects.
To date, Arkit has delivered over 130 social housing units across regional areas for Homes Victoria as part of the Big Housing Build.
Arkit provides modular, panelised and hybrid construction systems, with typical residential projects completed in 12–18 weeks—around half the time of traditional construction. The practice includes in-house architects, designers, project managers and building professionals, enabling an integrated design-and-delivery process.
Most recently, Arkit has established MULTIKit, a new venture focused on developing low-carbon solutions for mid-rise residential buildings.
