Sumitomo Forestry Australia Pty Ltd (SFAU) is a subsidiary of Sumitomo Forestry Group, an organisation boasting over 300 years experience and a global leader building over 16,000 homes annually in Australia, United States and Japan.
Sumitomo Forestry Group has announced its W350 Plan in February 2018 as a technology roadmap to realise a Timberised Eco City. This is a long-term project that aims to build a 350-meter-tall wooden high-rise building in 2041, which will mark the 350th anniversary of its foundation. The group will engage in research and development in wide range of fields including construction methods, environmentally-friendly technologies, and new wood materials.
SFAU has oversight and participates in the management of affiliated companies in Australia, Henley Properties Group, Wisdom Properties Group and Scott Park Group. These companies have a reputation for excellence and innovation, which has been recognised by multiple awards.
SFAU is seeking to participate in projects where building systems, technologies and materials, particularly in relation with utilising timber, which is also a renewable resource, will be revisited to bring innovations in those areas.
