Organisation and Major Project Update Submissions

We invite submissions about organisation and major project updates to include in the 'News' section of the prefabAUS member publication. These will be short updates of between 100-200 words. Please note that providing a submission does not guarantee publication. We will select a limited number of submissions for publication in each issue based on newsworthiness, topical themes, roadmap alignment, innovation significance, and available space allocation. The deadline for submission to appear in the upcoming issue has been extended to 18 June 2025.

What Constitutes a Major Project?

We define a major project as one that meets any of the following criteria:

  • Value/Scale: Projects of a significant value or scale relative to the context of your product/service offering.

  • Innovation: Projects demonstrating significant Industry 4.0 adoption, advanced DfMA implementation, or breakthrough sustainability features

  • Strategic significance: Projects that advance Smart Building adoption in new market segments, demonstrate new business models, or involve strategic public-private partnerships

  • Exemplar potential: Projects that could serve as flagships demonstrating Smart Building benefits and capabilities

Project Update Submissions

Please consider sharing updates on projects that have recently achieved:

Pre-Construction Milestones:

  • Contract award or project commencement

  • Planning approval secured

  • Successful completion of design phase with DfMA integration

  • Financing arrangements finalised

  • Major supply chain partnerships established

Construction & Delivery Milestones:

  • Factory production commenced

  • First modules delivered to site

  • Structural completion

  • Building envelope completion

  • Practical completion achieved

Performance & Innovation Milestones:

  • Sustainability certifications awarded (e.g., Green Star, NABERS)

  • Energy performance targets met or exceeded

  • Significant waste reduction achievements

  • Digital technology implementations completed

  • Workforce development programs delivered

Strategic Milestones:

  • First project in a new geographic market

  • Breakthrough into new building typology

  • Achievement of significant cost or time savings versus conventional construction

  • Successful completion leading to follow-on projects
