Simon founded Apex Wiring Solutions in 2012 after relocating to Australia with his young family. His goal was to bring proven modular wiring technology to Australia and New Zealand, and to help facilitate smarter building.

Drawing on his experience in the modular services market in Europe and the Middle East, together with his strong knowledge of DfMA, DfM and DfA, as well as lean manufacturing, supply chain management and offsite building.

Over the past seven years, Apex Modular Wiring has been utilised in all main sectors of construction throughout Australia and New Zealand. This includes hospitals, hotels, schools and government, plus various commercial and residential applications. Simon is particularly proud of Apex’s involvement in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) project, which achieved the building industry’s highest honour for sustainability – a 6-star Green Star Healthcare v1 rating.

As well as providing efficient and innovative modular wiring systems to a broad client base, Simon is an active advocate for prefabrication and integrated design processes. He contributed to the Handbook for the Design of Modular Structures, which was released in May 2017, and is proud to be part of the next generation of forward thinking construction professionals.

Presentation Overview

At the prefabAUS Conference, Simon will be speaking about the importance of services for prefabricated construction. He will present proven solutions to challenges and frustrations, with a focus on integrated design and Simon will be joined onstage by Scott Shade from Schneider to share his perspective. Simon will also address the hot topic of ‘manufacture vs construction’, using a case study of Sunshine Coast University to highlight the benefits of a collaborative approach.
