Specialist thermal insulation engineering consultancy optimising building envelope performance

Epora is an engineering consultancy dedicated to improving the thermal insulation performance of prefabricated and modular building envelope components. Led by a PhD-qualified professional engineer and member of Engineers Australia and AIRAH, Epora provides independent technical expertise to the prefabrication industry.

Since 2015, Epora engineers have collaborated with leading Australian prefab manufacturers and architectural firms to support the design and validation of modular building systems. The company delivers engineering services across Australia and internationally.

The consultancy combines experimental and advanced modelling approaches, including small-scale thermal testing to measure the total R-value of prefab envelope components, together with 3D numerical modelling and heat-flow analysis to optimise envelope design. Epora also conducts sensitivity and uncertainty analysis to support risk-informed product decisions.

Active in research and industry knowledge, Epora recently presented work at the World Conference on Timber Engineering 2025 on the thermal performance of prefab hybrid timber composite wall systems.
