The practice was founded by Simon McCarthy, Principal Structural Engineer and Board Director for prefabAUS. He has over 25 years of experience in the Australian building industry (10+ years on multi-storey MMC projects) and is a nationally registered / chartered professional engineer.

Simon is a leading advocate for the adoption of MMC to promote productivity gains in the construction industry. Systemised Design Group was established at the request of clients seeking to leverage our extensive experience in DfMA that was gained on projects across the UK, Europe, USA and South-East Asia.

We optimise structural engineering design services for buildings to adopt modern methods of construction (MMC) including modular, kit-of-parts and platforms construction techniques for multi-storey assembly, using digital technologies to develop and document innovative offsite construction solutions.

Our network of industry partners can provide you with full building project services including: feasibility studies (to determine whether MMC is appropriate for buildings in your pipeline), BIM documentation (up to LOD 450 for steel shop drawings, developed from the analysis model), assistance in finding the right building manufacturer for your project, development of Client "branding" or catalogue of designs to build predictability on future building projects.
