Prefabulous is a modular builder based in Wagga Wagga, NSW, specialising in architecturally designed modular homes for style conscious clients seeking sustainable and affordable living solutions. Founded by Gavin King, Prefabulous combines thoughtful design with advanced manufacturing to deliver high quality homes that are both functional and enduring.
The design language of Prefabulous homes is inspired by familiar Australian rural forms, including the woolshed, homestead, and hayshed. These simple, robust shapes inform homes that feel grounded, timeless, and well suited to the Australian landscape.
All Prefabulous homes are designed and manufactured in the company’s purpose built facility in Wagga Wagga. Modules are fully finished prior to delivery, including kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, plumbing, and electrical systems. Once complete, homes are transported to site and installed within days, significantly reducing on site build time and disruption.
Prefabulous is recognised for its commitment to innovation and sustainability. The company has received Federal Government funding through the AusIndustry Department and the Innovation Connections initiative to undertake a research project with the University of Wollongong. This research focuses on the development of Net Zero modular home designs capable of achieving NatHERS seven star ratings and beyond.
In 2023, NSW Premier Chris Minns visited the Prefabulous manufacturing facility, acknowledging the role of businesses like Prefabulous in addressing the state’s housing challenges through scalable, high quality, and efficient construction solutions.
Built using robust steel framing systems and a Design for Manufacture and Assembly approach, Prefabulous homes are engineered for strength, longevity, and transportability. This construction method allows homes to be relocated
