Etex Australia is part of Etex Group, a Belgium-based global building materials manufacturer and pioneer in lightweight construction founded in 1905.

With approximately 600 teammates across 24 sites in Australia, Etex supplies innovative gypsum solutions, fibre cement boards, and passive fire protection products. In early 2024, Etex completed the acquisition of BGC's plasterboard and fibre cement businesses, including a 56,000m² plasterboard plant in Perth and nine warehouses across Australia and New Zealand.

This positions Etex in the top three for fibre cement in Australia. The company's Australian brands include Siniat (plasterboard and fibre cement), Promat (passive fire protection and high-temperature insulation), EQUITONE (architectural fibre cement facades), and Innova (facades and linings). Etex Australia is the only manufacturer in the country offering an opt-in carbon neutral program called Opt2Act for a range of Siniat products. Etex ANZ drives strong investment in innovation and sustainability to provide solutions that help customers stay ahead of the market. Globally, Etex has been re- awarded a Silver Medal by EcoVadis, reaffirming their strong sustainability performance. In Australia the Opt2Act carbon neutral program is available under the Siniat brand to reduce the upfront carbon emissions of a build by up to 7%.
