When construction began on Melbourne's Metro Tunnel Project, the Royal Women's Hospital faced an urgent challenge: how could critical MRI diagnostics continue uninterrupted when new underground rail infrastructure threatened electromagnetic interference risks to the hospital's existing equipment?
Modscape + Modbotics were appointed to relocate the MRI department to the hospital's upper levels, delivering a fully volumetric modular facility manufactured entirely offsite. Completed under an accelerated program and installed using a 750-tonne crane, the project ensured the Royal Women's Hospital could continue providing uninterrupted imaging services throughout construction, with minimal disruption to one of Australia's busiest specialist hospitals.

Fleetwood's Independent Living Laboratory delivers a pioneering healthcare research facility for the National Centre for Healthy Ageing in Seaford, Victoria. The five-module volumetric solution simulates a real home environment, integrating cutting-edge assistive technology within a modular framework. Pre-installed conduits and plug-and-play services connections minimised site disruption, enabling Monash University and Peninsula Health to trial care models and technology that support healthy ageing and independent living.

RFDS William Creek Community Health Centre, by Modular by SHAPE
Modular by SHAPE's RFDS William Creek Community Health Centre delivers vital healthcare infrastructure to one of Australia's most isolated communities. Manufactured and fitted out in Adelaide, the hybrid modular facility was transported more than 800 kilometres, including 200 kilometres of unsealed road, and craned into position within eight hours. The centre supports emergency treatment, telehealth and allied health services in a region with limited access to permanent medical care.
